Alpha - Fall 2008 Photos


Anyone of any age who is interested in finding out more about the christian faith can come on the course. (We offer child-care on certain courses. See registration form.)

Learning and laughter happen on the ALPHA course.

People meet people in talk-it-over groups and, depending upon the course, often over a meal.

Help comes through discussion and questions raised during the talks.

Ask anything. ALPHA is a place where all questions are welcomed.
WHAT IS ALPHA?
Alpha is an 8-week practical introduction to the Christian faith that explores questions such as:

Is Christianity boring, untrue and irrelevant?

  • Who Is Jesus?
  • Why Did Jesus Die?
  • Why and How Should I Read the Bible?
  • Why and How Do I Pray?
  • What About the Holy Spirit?
  • How Can I Overcome Evil?
  • Why and How Should I Tell Others?
  • Does God Heal Today?
  • What About the Church?

Upcoming Course Dates & Times

April 21-May12 Four Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 in Miller Hall

This Spring Palm Desert Community Presbyterian Church is offering a four-week “Taste of ALPHA” for new believers, people with questions, people who want to brush up on our faith or believe in God again. The course features a video talk by Nicky Gumble of London and small group conversations. The themes will be: 1. Why did Jesus die? 2. How can I believe? 3. Why should I pray? 4. What about the Bible?

Normally 8 weeks in length, “A Taste of ALPHA” is just four weeks, designed to help people grow who’ve come to faith in Christ through the Festival of Life. But anyone may attend this ALPHA.
